What is a fanlisting?

I really don't get it!

First, let's read the definition of TheFanlistings.Org - where the whole concept of "fanlistings" came from.

A fanlisting is simply an online listing of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are) - they are just a place where you can have your name listed along with other fans of the same subject. TheFanlistings.org is the original (but not only) web directory for fanlistings, dedicated to uniting fans across the globe.

If you still don't get it, read on...I'll try and explain it in my own words.

• Fan...listing? - it's simply a list of fans from around the world interested in the same subject. In this case, it's for the musician Robert Plant! :)

• I'm a fan of that, so does that mean I'm already listed here? - uh, no. You have to join first! (Don't worry, it's free) :)

• I joined, now what? I'm still not listed! - you'll have to wait for me to approve you first since I have to check if you gave valid details.

•When will that be? - as soon as I possibly can. You'll receive an e-mail from me saying that you're now listed.

•The join form is asking for a password! Will you know my password? - heck no! It will be encrypted into the database and I will never have access to it. Just you! Its only purpose is for you to securely update your info if you want to change any (like updating your e-mail address).

• What happens if I'm listed? - your name and e-mail address (if you choose to display it) and website (if you provided any) will be displayed along with other fans at the members list! You can "meet" them by visiting their websites, e-mailing them, making friends with them if you want to, etc.

• I want to contact Robert Plant and Led Zeppelin! Do you their e-mail, home address, phone numbers, etc? Can I have it? - I wish I do! But no, I DON'T KNOW. Sorry. And if in case I do know, I will not be giving it out. It's a violation of their privacy. So I repeat: I REALLY DON'T KNOW.

• So what other fanlistings are out there? - a lot! The subjects can range from anything from musicians, actors, actresses, and concepts, down to the smallest objects and hobbies! You can find them all here: TheFanlistings.Org
